The Start Group is the name given to our family of companies: Start Advertising & Marketing, Inc., Start Corporation, and Start Performance - all privately owned by the Dark family. Additionally, three other firms are "members" of The Start Group as alliance partners.

Start Advertising & Marketing, Inc. is the flagship company of The Start Group. This marketing support firm was founded in 1971as Dark III Marketing, Inc. Renamed Start Advertising in 2003, the agency provides a full array of advertising and marketing services for consumer and business-to-business clients as well as dozens of independent telecommunications companies in 20 states. Our services include marketing plans, research, campaign design and production, online production, print management, and media time/space/hit placement.

Start Corporation operates in two divisions: Start Customer Care provides call center services for over 300 municipal governments, telcos, utilities, medical practices, HVAC and other service providers, and many manufacturers and businesses. Our center offers inbound and outbound teleservices in three categories: Technical Support, Answering and Outsourced CSR Service, and Medical Research.The Center operates 24/7/365 and has English and Hispanic language agents. Start Wholesale Services represents providers of wireless canopy, ISP, epublishing, and billing technologies used by independent telcos and utilities.

Start Performance provides customized training programs, as well as leadership and organizational development training. We train to support your sales efforts, so we offer a wide range of sales and product training, customer service training with role-play, and even Secret Shopping by telephone and in-store to help drive superior performance.

Alliances provide us with a support group of professionals who expand and enhance our ability to serve. Strategic Insights features an excellent team of branding specialists and electronic production designers. Whiteline Technologies offers research tabulation services and a host of database management services to support direct mail, teleservices, and other targeting programs. Third-Party Verifications, Inc. provides FCC-mandated TPV services for telecom companies and others who must independently verify certain transactions.
